The project was born from the desire to step away from the speed of social media, the logic of algorithms, and the habit of speaking about Sicily only through a promotional lens or cinematic stereotypes. Sicily today is more complex than the stories usually told about it. The people who live here make choices, carry doubts, and develop ways of thinking that are rarely narrated, yet they shape everyday life far more than postcards ever could.
Living La Collina makes space for real reflections, lived experiences, and honest observations. It aims to move away from stereotypes and offer a more grounded perspective, one that can only be understood by being here, by slowing down, and by looking at this land through the lens of reality rather than expectation.
Think of it as a living archive: a growing historical collection of what we experience, observe, and live today, preserved for tomorrow.
While the project began with Claudia’s voice and perspective, anyone who feels a genuine connection to this place and its way of life is welcome to contribute. Stories, thoughts, and reflections are invited, as long as they are sincere, grounded, and true to lived experience.
This is not a travel guide.
It is a living journal, a place to observe, remember, and document what often goes unnoticed: the authentic life of the Nebrodi countryside, as it truly unfolds, day by day.
